Overall comments: Memorial Stone - only getting the rights for 25 years seems a bit of a rip off. What are you going to do then? Remove them? [As we approach the end of the term of 25 years, we offer each family the right to extend the period]

Why did you choose this burial ground? Mum loved nature, especially birds and trees
What type of occasion did you organise? A very simple, 3 generation burial with scattered seeds, lots of locally sourced flowers, drawings from the kids and a formal Christian commitment ceremony.
Could anything have been better? Trees between the burial ground and car park so we couldn't see cars.
Would you recommend the burial ground to others? Absolutely
What would you say to others who are arranging a burial? Keep it simple and arrange to spend a long time there on the day
Is there anything else you would like to be offered by the burial ground? Wild flowers
How did you find out about the burial ground? Picked up a leaflet from funeral director 3 years ago whil burying my Dad.
Overall comments: Feeling the pressure of the deadline to claim right for a memorial stone. More space between the questions on this form perhaps. Expected contact from Leedam after we had booked. [Although liaison is usually via the appointed funeral director, we welcome your suggestion for us to also make direct contact. In this particular instance, all communication we received was via the Funeral Director.]

Why did you choose this burial ground? The family wanted a place near where he had lived all his working life, in the countryside and among trees. The view of Bennachie Hill was an added bonus.

Overall comments: As a far flung family (Australia, Spain, Scotland), we needed time and many discussions about what to do, but now feel we found the best way for us.

Could anything have been better? There was some confusion regarding dates. The funeral director communicated by telephone to you re: this, and requested a formal apology from you. (Comment: The provisional date given to us by the FD had to be changed because the Procurator Fiscal's authority to proceed with the burial was delayed)
How did you find out about the burial ground? It is local to me.

Our service
Place of joy as well as sadness. Peaceful, beautiful and somewhere we can comfortably visit as a family, including children and dog. Lord Forbes so obviously cares in a sensitive and respectful way. He made it easy for us. Backfilling was done in good time and the return of turfs was beyond expectation. A dreadful day was made that much more bearable. Thank you to Lord Forbes.

We chose the burial ground because of the location and the service offered. It was actually better than expected - just perfect setting. Overall an excellent service carried out by everyone. I'm sure my father will rest very peacefully there as he spent many happy times in and around that area.

It is more natural than a formal burial ground and allows authentic natural burial (unlike competitors like Clovery Woods). The approach track to the car park could become unmanageable in bad weather! Slight panic at not being able to find the grave after it had been backfilled - some sort of temporary marker would be useful. We would recommend it to others.

The burial ground has a good approach to managing the trees and grassland. We were attracted to the burial ground because of distaste for "industrial" approach to cremation, energy consumption and pollution. We required a burial ground reasonably close to our home.
